A single request credit allows access to one Map View or one call to any of our APIs (Search, Reverse geocoding, Autocomplete, etc). We do not charge for unsuccessful requests.

We have soft limits in place for most paid plans by default. This will help you handle unforeseen spikes by allowing requests upto an additional 100% of your daily limit. Beyond this, you will receive a `429` error code with `Rate Limited Day` message. If your account exceeds plan limits often, our team will reach out offering help with optimization or larger plans. Soft limits may be disabled in certain situations.

If your usage is unpredictable and you need a custom plan, reach out to us with your use case and requirement.

We accept all major credit & debit cards. All payments are processed securely using Zoho and Stripe. Your card details are never seen by LocationIQ.

For larger plans, we support wire transfers.

You can upgrade anytime you need more capacity! Since we bill month to month, however, we can only downgrade you at the end of the current cycle.

A Map View is made up of several individual Map Tiles. For Street maps, 1 map view = 1 request credit.

For Raster maps, 1 Map View = 16 Map tiles. For Vector maps, 1 Map View = 4 Map tiles.

We do not offer refunds, sorry. We do offer a free tier though, where you can test all our APIs before signing up for a paid account. If you forgot to cancel your subscription and we charged you, please write to us within 7 days and we'll refund your most recent charge.

You can store response data forever. If you have a free account, you can cache API request-response pairs for upto 48 hours. If you're a customer, cache request-response pairs for as long as you're a customer! :-) We do not allow server-side caching of map tiles.

Our infrastructure is spread across 3 continents, and all servers run on blazing fast NvME SSD drives! Expect a response within 100ms. We also publish uptime information publicly.
